  • Health benefits
    Medical benefits are available for individual, self-plus one or family. Dental benefits are also available.
  • Paid time off
    Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama offers Paid Time Off (PTO) to all associates which provides a combined "bank" of paid hours that can be used for time away from work. Associates accrue time bi-weekly based on years of service. Paid Time Off allows more flexibility in managing how and when you use your paid time away from work.

    Blue Cross associates receive paid holidays.

    This company program is company paid and allows associates and family members access to counseling and other resources for a variety of personal or work-related situations.

    The Company matches associate contributions. Participants are always 100 percent vested in their accounts.

  • Group Life Insurance
    Basic coverage is provided by the Company. Associates may also elect to purchase Group Term Life Spouse, Group Term Life Dependent and Group Term Life Supplemental.
  • Elective Life Insurance
    This benefit is available for purchase at group rates.
  • Long Term Disability
    All active, full-time exempt associates are automatically enrolled and the premium is 100 percent company paid.
  • Preferred Long-Term Care
    Full-time associates may purchase Preferred LTC with no health underwriting and receive a Company contribution of 50 percent of the core plan premium if they enroll within 30 days of their hire date.
  • Dependent Care Assistance Plan
    Expenses incurred for the care of qualifying dependents are eligible for reimbursement with pre-tax dollars under this option.
  • Group Travel Insurance
    This benefit is provided by the Company.
  • Voluntary Accident Insurance
    This benefit is available for purchase.

  • Tuition Reimbursement
    Full-time associates who enroll in a regionally accredited school are eligible for reimbursement. Associates must meet applicable eligibility requirement in order to receive reimbursement.
